Jorge Peña

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the Toulouse School of Economics and a faculty member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse (IAST), where I lead the Social Evolution research team. Since March 2023, I am also a guest researcher at the Department of Human Behavior, Ecology and Culture of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

I am interested in mathematical models of cooperation and conflict. My research focuses on different aspects of social evolution, collective action, and their mathematical modeling using evolutionary game theory and related approaches at the interface between evolutionary biology, the evolutionary human sciences, and economics.
